Kathy Kountze , CIO, Bose Corporation

Leadership Award Recipient

Kathy Kountze, Bose

Ms. Kountze has held various senior IT leadership positions across her 25+ years working in the technology field. Since April 2022, she is the Vice-President and Global Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Bose Corporation, a research company that develops sound solutions for entertainment, home audio, aviation, and automotive industries. Before joining Bose Corporation, Ms. Kountze was the Executive Vice-President and CIO for DentaQuest, a company that provides oral health care benefits and delivers oral care. Prior to joining DentaQuest, Ms. Kountze was the Senior Vice-President and CIO for Eversource Energy, the largest provider of electric, gas and water services in New England, where she held that position for 11 years. Prior to her role at Eversource Energy, Ms. Kountze spent 9 years at United Illuminating Company, an electric utility company in Connecticut, with 2 years as the Vice-President and CIO. Ms. Kountze serves on the board of Bombardier Recreational Products and has recently joined the board of Unitil Corp. Ms. Kountze also previously served for 3 years on the board of The Children’s Place, Inc. Ms. Kountze has won several awards including: 2021 Top Women in Energy, 2021 Diversity Women Elite 100, Most Impactful Black Women in Boston 2021, 2017 CIO of the Year, and 2015 Women Leading Stem Award. Kathy is deeply passionate about mentoring and empowering young talent, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds, as they begin or grow their careers in technology. She currently serves on the advisory board for Anaya’s Scholars, an organization dedicated to supporting first-generation college students both academically and professionally and has served on the advisory board for Apprenti, an organization that provides individuals from underrepresented backgrounds opportunities to advance in tech careers. Ms. Kountze holds a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Math and Science and a master’s degree in Computer Science.
